Two quotes I saw today in quick succession:
“The show doesn’t go on because it’s ready. It goes on because it’s 11:30.” – Lorne Michaels, SNL
"You will never always be motivated, so you must learn to be disciplined.’" unattributed
But the timing does have to be right.
Right for you to build the discipline. Right for you to go ahead despite things not being ready, finished, perfect (which is 100% unattainable anyway), etc. Right for you to be comfortable to do this.
The online space that I work in is full of coaches, courses, and systems promising to help you do this, that, and the other, in order to grow your business and attain your goals. There is some good stuff out there (you need to wade through a lot of fluff and filler, but it is out there) but none of it is going to work if you’re not ready to actually implement it.
Through years of working in a variety of business environments, coaching athletes, and
having been one myself, everything always comes down to mindset.
Of course, there are external factors. Some you’ll have more control over than others, but mindset is the thing that underpins it all.
